What you get for your scanning dollar

Scanning of the document – Documents are scanned at a resolution of 200dpi which saves on file size yet gives enough detail when printed or plotted to distinguish the documents details. We scan documents from 8.5” x 11” and smaller up to 36 inches wide with no limit on length.

This is where most scanning companies stop, but not us – Once your documents have been scanned we have several steps of post processing that aren't covered by most of our competitors.

Post Process

•  Deskew – Straighten the image

•  Crop – Remove all extra white border around document

•  Despeckle – Remove background “noise” from dirt on documents

All of our Post Processing is done individually to each document, by hand. Auto processes are never used .

Original Deskew Crop Despeckle

Identification process – Three pieces of information uniquely identify a document. A document number, sheet number, and revision.

Rename – Documents are scanned to an incremental file name, i.e. 001, 002, 003. We can change that incremental file name to reflect the document number. We can also include a revision and a sheet number for a rename.

Example: 19865A-02 19865 being the document number A being the revision 02 being the sheet number

Index – DCD can create an Access Database with searchable fields.
